Doors, they are everywhere! On our homes, our cars, our schools, our furniture; we even have doors on our neighborhoods. We call the gates. But are doors designed to keep people out or to let them in?
Well obviously the answer is…both.
In our world, in your world, what do your doors stand for? Not the doors to your car, or your home, but the door to your relational world. Do you let people in? Or do you keep them out? Keep them at arms length?
When was the last time you had a friend over to your house? When was the last time that you had a real conversation about something that mattered? Who is it that really knows you?
God created us to do life together. Life is not a solo sport. He has called us to community. Too often community, real community is what we run from. We are fearful that we maybe found out. That the truth about who we are will be seen. But the strange thing is, we want someone to know the truth about us. It is only when we face that truth do we have the ability to change and be changed.
During the month of September in NewSong we will be looking at relationships. Why we fear them, why we need them. How to find real friendships. And what or who needs to be the center of those relationships.
Join us in September as we go on a relational journey called DOORS.
